at Woodbridge High
Material supplied by Kathryn Wright,
Head of RE, Woodbridge High School, Redbridge
This was two weeks of fun and madness for the RE Department which included competitions for Years 7-9, such as designing T-shirts, writing poems and recording speeches.
Over three lunchtimes, the ‘Joseph Musical’ was shown on video - the Year 7s loved singing along!
An ex - body-builder and bouncer came in to answer Year 9 questions about whether you can believe in God and be tough!
Each Year 8 tutor group collected 2000 pennies for charity: we ended up with £150, that's about 15,000 pennies. Yes ... we counted them all!
Finally, the Bishop of Barking came in and had questions fired at him from Year 11s and Year 9s. They included topics such as euthanasia, the Crusades, the millennium bug, homosexuality and racism.
I can highly recommend a focus like this to raise the profile and image of a department.
