Shavuot

Gia Midda, Resource Centre Worker based at Sinclair House, lets us know about resources available for the Jewish festival of Shavuot. She writes

Shavuot begins on Thursday 5th June 2003, for more information on this Springtime festival celebrating the harvest season and receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai, please come to the Ackerman Resource Centre, Sinclair House.

You will find lots of information and activity ideas in the Shavuot box file and in a number of books detailing Jewish festivals.

Have a look at the following website which also have resources about the festivals origins and customs including reading the Story of Ruth and eating cheesecake.
